For this Sunday, I’ll be preaching on the parables of the mustard seed and the yeast in Matthew 13. These parables show us that God’s culture is built not only through big miracles; but especially through small acts of love and service. In these parables, Jesus is reminding us that no matter how bleak things may seem, God is at work, establishing his Kingdom and his reign. My hope in this message is to encourage us to remember three things: the invitation to participate in the kingdom of heaven in for everyone, our small acts of love matter, and to trust in the future that Jesus promises, even when we can’t see it.
