Stanley Hauerwas writes:  ‘At the end of the Sermon on the Mount we read that the crowds were astonished as Jesus’ teachings.  And yet, astonishment is not the response that Jesus wants from those who hear him.  Jesus does not want our admiration.  What he has taught, what he is, requires nothing less than our lives.’    Our text this morning gives us a practical take on what such living might look like.
